THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
The National Institute of Speech & Hearing (NISH) has successfully conducted the six-month certificate course in Assistive Technology (AT), the first-of-its-kind course in India, here.
It was conducted by the Centre for Assistive Technology and Innovation (CATI) at NISH and National Institute for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (NIPMR), with the support of Kerala Development and Innovation Strategic Council (K-DISC). The course was introduced in view of the dearth of AT professionals and good quality AT courses in India. It was designed by a committee consisting of experts from India and abroad.
Dr KM Abraham, Chairperson, K-DISC, was the chief guest at the function where Sheeba George, Director, Social Justice, and Executive Director, NISH, presided over.
