NISH Tells Inspiring Stories Through a Talk-Series

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
Success stories of differently abled individuals will be the subject for a series of talks initiated by The National Institute of Speech and Hearing (NISH).
Titled, “NISH Innovations Model – Inspiring Stories” (NIM-IS), first talk on this series nishwill be held on Saturday, March 4 at 9 am at the Marigold Auditorium on NISH campus, Akkulam. Dr Madan Vasishta, Professor, Gallaudet University, Washington DC, will launch the series to the public.
NIM-IS will share stories of people who have overcome disabilities and become role-models in society. This periodic series open to public, will also have talks by pioneers and innovators who have gone beyond their call of duty to serve the differently abled.
Dr Madan will share his experience on how he grew up in India, overcoming deafness and went on to become a professor at the world’s Premier Deaf University in the USA.
His story is an inspiration for anyone who struggles with adversities in life. He has proven that with determination, focus and hard work, life’s hardships can be turned in
to opportunities.
