Kollam: Anthony Varghese alias Aadu Antony was sentenced to life imprisonment for stabbing to death policeman Maniyan Pilla and wounding another police officer Joy during a vehicle check in 2012.
He was also ordered to pay an amount of Rs 1 lakh each to the families of the two policemen.
However, Maniyan Pillai’s family declined the award of money as they felt that Antony’s money was ill-gotten.
Aadu Antony, a notorious thief hailing from Kollam in Kerala, was nabbed after years of efforts made by Kerala police.
