Nuals Parliamentary Debate

The Nuals Parliamentary Debate, Organised by the Nuals Debate Forum in association with the Centre for Competition Law and Policy, was conducted from 20th to the 22nd January.DSC_0035
The Nuals Parliamentary Debate is at its third edition, and this time the format being followed is the British Parliamentary Format, an internationally recognised and renowned format, followed by the World Debating Championships. The format is a unique one in which 4 teams contest at once, 2 teams speaking for the motion, and two against.
The debate was inaugurated on 20th January, Friday by the Vice Chancellor of Nuals, Professor (Dr.) Rose Varghese. The Debate hosted participants from all over the country and from premier institutions such as NLS, Bangalore, HNLU Raipur and VIT.
The debate was conducted over the course of two days with 4 rounds with various motions and the theme of finals was “Trade Regulation and Practices”.
The Finals were conducted on 22 nd J
anuary, with the team consisting of Souradip Sen and Jaya Jain emerging victorious. While Harshi Mishra of NLS, Bangalore was judged with best external adjudicator, Aarthi Das (of Nuals) won the best internal adjudicator award.
