Oushadha Biksha Yatra to Reach Malappuram on Friday

After touring through different districts, the Oushadha Biksha Yatra, a unique road show organised by Nelliakkattu Sreedhareeyam Oushadheswari temple of Koothattukulam will reach Malappuram on Friday.
The yatra will visit nine temples in the district by Friday and Saturday. The devotees can offer ‘Biksha’ (alms) when the chariot, a specially designed vehicle, reaches the district carrying the idol of Goddess Oushadeshwari. Devotees can offer Thriphala and Ghee as alms.
After receiving alms from Thiruwillvamala Sree villyadrinadha Temple, Sree Chinakkathoor Bhagavathy Temple , Sree Parakkuttikaavu Temple, Thali Sree Mahaganapathi Temple, Thali Mahadeva Temple , Manjalungal Padinjaremadom Sree Guruvayoorappan Temple, the Yatra, it entered Malappuram through Sree Ayyappa Temple , Pulinkaavu. The yatra will complete by entering Sree Thirumadhamkunnu Bhagavathy Temple.
On Saturday, the yatra will tour through Sree Thripuranthaka Temple, Sree Kunnath Temple , Manjeri Sree Arukizhaya Mahadeva Temple, Sree Ayyappa Swami Temple and Idimuzhakkal Sree Mahaganapathi Temple. By touching, Pariharapuram Sree Subrahmanya Swami Temple and Azhinjillam Thali Mahavishnu Temple, the Yatra will enter Kozhikkode.
The Yatra which will tour to 114 temples in the state is the first of its kind campaign undertaken in the state to collect medicines and herbs from various temples to prepare the special monsoon season Ayurvedic preparation. It is then served to the people for mental and physical agility during the month of Karkitakam of Malayalam calendar.
The temple has also organised ‘Oushadha Ponkala” on August 6, a ritual seeking divine blessings for the wellness of the society as a whole. ‘OushadhaSeva’starts once the Yatra returns to Koothatukulam Oushadheswari temple.
