OYO Hotels Commits INR 1cr to Rebuild the Budget to Mid Segment

On the request of K. J. Alphons, Minister of State (Tourism), Government of India, in an effort to support and resurrect small hoteliers and homestay owners in Kerala, OYO – South Asia’s largest and world’s fastest growing hotel chain has set up a dedicated fund of INR 1 crore.

With this fund, OYO will help asset partners recover and rebuild their properties. “On the request of K. J. Alphons, Minister of State (Tourism), Government of India, OYO, India’s largest hospitality company, has decided to donate Rs 1 crore for the rehabilitation for small hoteliers and homestay owners affected by the recent floods in Kerala. They have identified three major affected areas of Kochi, Munnar, and Wayanad, where they would assist in restoration and up- gradation efforts of the hotel properties with an expenditure cap of Rs 2 lakhs per property.

The identification of affected properties will be made in consultation with the Tourism Director – Kerala. Through this dedicated fund, we aim to support small hoteliers and homestays owners with our operational
capabilities and more specifically transformation services, that will help them upgrade their properties in a record time of 15 days. We are also committed to supporting the state tourism by restoring the existing OYO properties while assisting other smaller hoteliers and homestay owners
resurrect their business,” said Ritesh Agarwal, CEO & Founder, OYO Hotels Launched in May 2013, OYO Hotel’s mission is to create quality living spaces, anywhere, for everyone. OYO Hotels, had earlier contributed Rs 11.35 lakhs to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to provide support to the people of Kerala who were adversely impacted by the floods.
