Padma Bhushan awardee and world-renowned Mohan Veena maestro, Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, performed a captivating Hindustani classical concert at Rajagiri College of Social Sciences, Kakkanad. The event was organized in association with SPICMACAY (Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth), with the objective of inspiring young minds through India’s rich classical music heritage.

Honored with the prestigious Grammy Award and numerous national and international accolades, Pt. Bhatt is celebrated globally for his invaluable contributions to Indian classical music. He is the creator of the Mohan Veena, a remarkable innovation that blends the nuances of Gayaki (vocal style) and Tantrakari (instrumental technique), bridging Indian and Western musical traditions. With a legacy spanning over six decades and performances in more than 80 countries, his concert at Rajagiri turned into an immersive audio-visual experience for students and faculty alike.

Founded in 1977, SPICMACAY is a prominent volunteer-driven movement that exposes youth to India’s diverse cultural forms, including classical dance, music, folk arts, theatre, and cinema.
