A regular train, named Palaruvi express will be introduced between Punalur and Palakkad from 20th April 2017. Train No. 16791 Punalur-Palakkad Palaruvi Express will start at 3.25 am from Punalur to reach Palakkad junction at 1.20 pm
. In the return direction Train No. 16792 will start from Palakkad Jn at 4 pm to reach Punalur at 1.20 am the next day. With a composition of 9 General coaches and 2 luggage cum break vans the train will stop at Auvaneeswaram, Kuri Halt, Kottarakkara, Ezhukone, Kundara, Kilikollur, Kollam, Perinad, Munrothuruthu, Sasthankotta, Karunagappalli, Ochira, kayamkulam, Mavelikkara, Cheriyanad, Chengannur, Tiruvalla, Changanasseri, Kottayam, Ernakulam Town, Aluva, thrissur, and Ottappalam stations.
