KOCHI:
Rajagiri College of Social Sciences (Autonomous), Kalamassery, and Rajagiri Business School, Kakkanad, jointly inaugurated the new academic year with ‘Deeksharambham 2026’, the induction programme for first-year students. More than 1,500 students have enrolled across the two institutions this academic year.
Held at the Rajagiri Valley Campus, the programme commenced with a ceremonial lamp-lighting by the faculty, symbolising the passing on of knowledge and the beginning of the students’ academic journey.
Fr Binoy Elavunkal, General Councillor for Education and Media, Sacred Heart Province, presided over the function. Delivering the inaugural address, Arun Narayan Thekkethil, Centre Head, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Kochi, encouraged students to seize every opportunity, discover their strengths, and pursue excellence with commitment and perseverance.
George Kurian, Executive Director of Zillis India and a Rajagiri alumnus, attended as the guest of honour.
Fr Prof. Dr. Saju M.D., Principal of Rajagiri College of Social Sciences and Executive Director of Rajagiri Business School, welcomed the gathering. Fr Dr. Shinto Joseph and Fr Dr. Francis Sebastian, Assistant Directors, addressed the students, while Dr. Binoy Joseph, Associate Director, proposed the vote of thanks.
The programme also featured the release of Navatha, the college magazine, and the presentation of Excellence Awards to students for their outstanding achievements.
