Rotary Club of Bicholim Brings ‘Riyasat – The Biryani Fest’

Calling all Biryani lovers in Goa, Rotary Club of Bicholim under World’s Greatest Meal Program is hosting Riyasat – The Biryani Fest in association with Panchamrutha Rice on 01st March 2020 at Nature-Inn Resort, Nanoda-Goa.

The festival will witness the tasty treat of 15 different types of historic Biryani preparations across India pertaining to various traditions, locations and taste from Goa’s finest Biryani Houses. These will include Vegetarian, Chicken, Mutton and Seafood all under one roof.

Rotary Club of Bicholim is organising this Food Festival as a fund raiser towards eradicating Polio through The Rotary Foundation. But why Biryani?

Secretary Vindesh Shirodkar explains “Biryani, culturally highlights the diversity of our nation, as the dish relies heavily on the combination of locally available spices and with spices you know that a little bit here and a little bit there might never taste the same! Riyasat celebrates this culture connect that binds us with the same dish prepared in many ways”. President Sandesh Burye says a “The Food festival related fund raiser was on our agenda this year and our young team of enthusiastic Rotarians put a concrete plan on paper.”

Jambulingappa .G. Hosmani, Director, Panchamrutha Rice said, “We are committed towards getting the finest quality rice grains to our customers, from the best harvest of the deccans. When a decorated organisation like Rotary Club of Bicholim came up with this concept of a Biryani Festival, it was a no brainer for us to be their sponsorers. Riyasat an exciting roster of the finest biryani makers in Goa, and I hope our rice adds to their already famous preparations. Riyasat promises an experience of a lifetime.”

WGM chair of Rotary Bicholim , Rtn Dr. Swapnil Dixit adds that ‘This is one of the biggest WGM event to be done in the entire district and the humongous response for the same is confirmed by a near sell out of the passes .’ For anyone who lives for the delightful flavours of the much-loved rice dish, you will get to try different varieties like Chonak biryani, Prawns biryani, Ghee Mutton biryani, Shahi Mutton biryani, Awadhi chicken biryani and more, this is a not-to-be-missed festival.

“Noda caterers specialises in custom creation of local recipes but for Riyasat , we are exploring a dish from the South of India. Chettinad is a way of preparation prominent in South of India where predominant use of coriander seeds and chillies make up for a spicy and tangy combination. We are proud to be associated with Riyasat, a festival aimed to raise funds for Rotarys final push to eradicate polio.”

“At Amonkars Classic Catering, we always look at the distinct ways, Biryani can be cooked. Rotary Club of Bicholim is organising this grand event – Riyasat for in order to eradicate polio. And we will be presenting our crowd favorite – Pot biryani, where the mix of rice, spices and chicken is cooked in earthen pots. This biryani has its origin in pottery making towns of Sindh and Kutch, and I’m sure it will delight our visitors.”

Guests can also enjoy starters and cocktails, a tour of Nature Inns picturesque location, entertainment programs, promotional goodies and complimentary use of the swimming pool and other water activities from 11AM to 4 PM all the cost of Rs. 1000/-

The entire contribution of Rs.1000/- will go towards eradicating Polio through The Rotary Foundation. Moreover, each guest’s donation of Rs. 1000/- will be matched by a contribution of Rs. 2000/- from The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, USA.
