Saksham 2017 Launched in Kerala

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
Public Sector Oil companies in Kerala launched Saksham 2017, a month long Oil & Gas conservation awareness campaign on 16th January 2017 at Institute of Engineers Hall, Vellayambalam, Thiruvananthapuram.
S.M.Vijayanand, Chief Secretary, Govt of Kerala inaugurated the function. During the inaugural address  Vijayanand urged students to take up the cause of energy conservation through judicial use of scarce resources, Kerala SAKSHAM 2ways to reduce household energy consumption & sustainable development.
State level Co-ordinator, Oil industry, Kerala & Lakshadweep and General Manager, IndianOil Corporation, Kerala, P.S.Mony stressed upon the importance of energy saving in transport sector as they are the major consumers of Petroleum products. Effective Integration of Road, Rail and water transportation will go a long way in conserving the resources for the future. He also added that improving the quality of infrastructure will play a keyrole in conservation.
Jose K George, Deputy General Manager (Retail Lube Sales), A.M.Santosh Kumar, SISM, P.M. Somachudan, State level co-ordinator, BPCL, Kerala, G.Vinoth Kumar, Chief Regional Manager, HPCL, Kochi, B.N.Rao, DGM(O&M), GAIL, Suresh Kumar M, Addl Director, PCRA, Kerala were the other Oil industry dignitaries present during the occasion. Around 250 Students, Oil industry officials, Dealers and distributors participated in the program. As a mark of commencement of the campaign, a walkathon was also organised with 125 NCC cadets to create awareness among the public.
