A seminar on the India-Oman Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) was organized by FICCI, CTIL, INMECC and Foreign Investment Committee of Oman Chamber of Commerce.
Speaking at the event, G.V. Srinivas, Indian Ambassador to Oman, said the agreement would greatly benefit the MSME sector. “Oman is an Ayurveda hub, and we can promote investment and business opportunities between two countries.. We should disseminate information about the India-Oman CEPA through the AI portal. CEPA agreement will be highly beneficial for MSMEs” he added.
A.P.M. Mohammed Hanish, Additional Chief Secretary, Kerala Department of Industries, emphasized the importance of trade and industry in driving national growth. “Trade removes barriers between nations and fosters progress. The India-Oman CEPA will strengthen economic ties and promote mutual growth and Kerala has strong bond of relation of trade with Oman,” he said.
Mahboob Issa Alraisi, Consul General of Oman in Mumbai, highlighted that CEPA would strengthen economic ties and promote long-term cooperation. “The agreement is based on strategic partnership and mutual commitment to economic prosperity. It will facilitate trade and promote strong economic cooperation,” he said.
Dr. James J Nedumpara, Professor and Head CTIL gave a detailed presentation on CEPA agreement between India and Oman. FICCI Co-Chair Cherian M. George Savio Mathew, Head FICCI KESC Dr. N.M. Sharafuddin, Chairman INMECC Abdul Latif Uppala, Member of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry Board, also spoke at the event.
During the Panel discussions Dr. Davis Kallukaran, Dy. Chair Foreign Investment Committee Oman Chamber of Commerce & Industry. Dr. P Mohamed Ali, Founder Galfar Group, Dr. M.I Sahadulla, Group Chairman & MD KIMS Health, Sheraz Anwar, Director Abad Group, Anirudh Sankar, Consultant, DGFT also spoke.
The seminar featured discussions on business opportunities of Indian companies, with presentations by Ridhish Rajvanshi and Tathagata Chaudhary CTIL, Experts discussed how Oman Vision 2040 relates to India-Oman business partnerships. Dr. Yousuf Hamad Al Balushi, Economic Advisor and Research Analyst, Oman, and Yarub Naseer Khamis Al Siyabi, Representative of Oman Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones, presented their views.
