KOCHI:
Cochin University of Science and Technology has suspended 7 students allegedly because of their association in series of incidents of clash and unrest recently developed in the Campus followed by the Onam Celebrations at School of Engineering.
Based on the complaint received from Muhammed Sherin, first year B.Tech (Civil) student, who had been allegedly ragged in the School of Engineering Campus on 23 rd September, Sajad Mohammed Shafi (5 th Semester, Mechanical) Jon Joseph Peter (5 th Semester, Information Technology), Danish Yousuf (3 rd Semester, Electrical and Electronics) were suspended pending enquiry. The detailed enquiry in this matter has been entrusted with University Ragging Monitoring Cell in which Dr.K.V. Pramod, Dr.Sobha Cyrus and Dr.A.A.Mohammed
Hatha are the members, informed CUSAT Registrar.
Three others named Shahim (7 th Semester Civil), Fayaz (5 th Semester, Electrical and Electronics), Shahin (5 th Semester, Mechanical) and Fazal (5 th Semester, Electrical and Electronics) are also suspended in connection with the mishaps occurred in Campus during Onam Celebrations held on 8 th Septe
