Shiv Nadar University Launches an Online Certification Program

Shiv Nadar University, India’s leading multidisciplinary and research-based university, also recognized as an Institution of eminence (IoE) by the Government of India, today launched a new online certificate program in Data Sciences and Analytics for Business (DSAB).

The program aims to provide hands-on-training to equip students with the relevant domain knowledge and the technical skills to help companies solve for business challenges using insights from data. This unique and intensive 14-week program, which will be delivered online, will commence from the 3 rd week of July, 2020.

The DSAB program will cover essential concepts of statistics and econometrics required for modelling, exploratory data analysis and data manipulation by using different tools, predictive modelling, machine learning, prescriptive modelling, text mining and neural networks. This program will help students develop essential technical skills with tools including SQL, Python, TensorFlow, Tableau and more.

The teaching method will use real-business case studies, challenge hackathons on specific business scenarios using actual datasets, and help students learn through rigorous mentorship. Practitioner faculty members with rich experience from industry will combine with experienced academics to provide the real business exposure and insight to students that will prepare them robustly for their future career – either in the analytics industry or in the sectors using analytics.

Shiv Nadar University has partnered with Jigsaw Academy, India’s leading globally recognized learning company in the field of data sciences and business analytics, to deliver select content elements for this course. Besides Jigsaw, the course will be delivered by the esteemed faculty of Shiv Nadar University who have profound industry experience and are alumni of globally renowned institutions.

The graduates of this course will have opportunities to work in various sectors including Analytics, FMCG, BFSI, healthcare, IT/ITeS, manufacturing, retail, ecommerce, consulting and others.

Students with a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent or enrolled in any recognised undergraduate degree program and having Mathematics in 10+2 board can apply for the program. Candidates will also have to qualify a personal interview for final selection. Classes for the program will be conducted online with ample hands-on practice in a simulated environment. The program will span over 12 weeks with approximately nine hours of contact tutorials spread across three sessions every week. The program will be concluded with a capstone project.
