Snapdeal Gears up for @home Pooja Celebrations this Year

GURUGRAM:
Snapdeal, India’s leading e-commerce marketplace, launched a unique e-store for Durga Puja, ahead of festivities.

In view of the ongoing pandemic this year, the Government has issued guidelines for Pujo celebrations requesting organisers to use electronic and social media to reach devotees. Pandals and state carnivals have been canceled. In support of these efforts, Snapdeal launched a specially curated estore, a one-stop shop to make it easy for its customers to find various things they would need to celebrate Durga Pujo at home.

The e-store has all pooja items like idols & framed pictures of deities, pooja mats, dhunuchi, puja mats, kalash and neti pots, havan samagri, diya etc. The store also covers pooja related accessories like mini stools for placing idols, and decoration items like torans, flowers, white and red rangoli stickers, lights and candles. All these items are arranged under one store, making it easier for people to set up their own personalised pooja celebrations.

Priced between Rs 600-1200, the all-inclusive Pooja Kits have all pooja accessories making it an instant hit, with stocks of many sellers already sold out. Sindoor witnessed a 3X increase in order volume.

Demand for small temples for home celebrations soared 2X this year. Durga Mata Shringar accessories and fancy Puja thali are popular among West Bengal, Assam, Bihar and Orissa buyers. White lungis, which are traditionally gifted to priests, were also a popular item among buyers from West Bengal, Bihar, Assam and Orissa.

The surge in demand for Pujo items is on account of more users opting to conduct rituals & festivities at home.

This year, Snapdeal increased the variety of healthy falahari for the fast. These include dry fruits, nutri chatpata mix, makhana, super seed chat, among others.

“As celebrations go small and personal this year, we are making sure that people have everything they need to celebrate without stepping out. Our Pooja e-store this year is a collection of traditional and contemporary items that make the celebration at home complete and meaningful for shoppers,” says Snapdeal spokesperson.

Snapeal’s e-store also has bluetooth speakers and home audio systems at huge discounts to let Snapdeal users enjoy the festivities at home. The other items witnessing heightened buying interest are red and white Bengali sarees, shakha pola, and dhoti kurta.

Snapdeal partnered with saree label Sherine to provide special deals of up to 75 percent off on best-selling Banarasi and silk sarees ahead of the season.
