SpiceHealth Extends the Most Affordable RT-PCR Testing Directly to Consumers

GURUGRAM:
Continuing with its mission to make Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests most affordable and accessible for every Indian, SpiceHealth today announced the launch of the country’s cheapest testing facility for the general public at just INR 499/-.

SpiceHealth has also tied up with SpiceJet to offer a special price of INR 299/-, which is one-third of the prevailing market rate, for its passengers who wish to get the crucial Covid test done and thus contributing to making flying even more safe and convenient.

Till now, SpiceHealth, a healthcare company founded by the promoters of SpiceJet, had been working with various state governments and government medical bodies to facilitate Covid testing. While that association continues, SpiceHealth has now decided to open its testing facilities for the general public to ensure rapid testing to fight the pandemic.

In the first phase, the Company will make its testing facility available for the general public in two of the most affected cities in India – Mumbai and Delhi. To further enhance the convenience of customers, SpiceHealth will also allow sample collection from the comfort of their home at a nominal charge. Customers will also have the option to book online appointment and get themselves tested at the nearest SpiceHealth mobile lab.

SpiceHealth’s mobile labs are accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) and Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).  In order to book the appointments, customers can visit SpiceHealth website (www.spicehealth.com), fill the details and book an appointment. SpiceJet passengers can book for a RT-PCR test on the SpiceHealth website by quoting their PNR number. The PNR can be used once by a passenger to avail the special discounted price either prior to travel or up to 30 days after travel.

Avani Singh, CEO, SpiceHealth said, “After testing over a million people in Delhi, Maharashtra, Haryana and Haridwar and working closely with the respective local governments, SpiceHealth has now come forth to offer the cheapest and fastest RT-PCR testing directly to the people taking forward our goal to maximise testing. We are proud to extend our quick, seamless and smooth testing facility to the public at large in Mumbai and Delhi, to start with, and we strongly believe that testing remains as important as ever in our fight against this pandemic as that’s the only way to quickly identify, isolate and treat those infected.”

“For a smooth travel experience and to help passengers meet Covid travel requirements, we have exclusively tied up with SpiceJet to offer its passengers a hassle-free testing experience at just INR 299/-.”

Recently, SpiceHealth set-up mobile laboratories and testing facilities across Haridwar and at five locations along the border of Uttarakhand for pilgrims visiting the Kumbh Mela to undergo RT-PCR and Rapid Antigen tests. On November 23, 2020, SpiceHealth had launched its first mobile testing facility in Delhi which was inaugurated by Amit Shah, Union Home Minister and Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare.

When Covid-19 was at an all-time high in India, SpiceHealth disrupted the RT-PCR testing space by offering tests in mobile laboratories at Rs. 499/-, as opposed to the then existing rate of Rs. 2400/- in Delhi. In another path-breaking initiative, test results were made available within six hours as compared to the existing 24-48 hour time frame.

SpiceHealth was also the first to introduce the innovative concept of mobile testing laboratories that could be placed in remote areas, in containment zones, in villages where access to hospitals and medical facilities was and remains a challenge. SpiceHealth has conducted more than a million RT-PCR tests in the short period since its launch, helping bring down Covid-19 testing cost dramatically across the country. The mobile laboratories ensured scalability and the low price ensured affordability.

In January 2021, SpiceHealth launched a first-of-its-kind genome sequencing laboratory at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport to help in identifying and containing the new mutant variants of Covid-19 virus unwittingly carried by passengers travelling from other countries. Earlier, SpiceHealth had also launched SpiceOxy – a compact, portable, non-invasive ventilation device, which is an effective solution for patients with mild to moderate breathing issues and had also introduced fingertip pulse oximeter, a handy device making it easier for people to measure the oxygen level of the blood.
