State Launches Keralam GCC Boilerplate

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
Making the process of setting up of Global Capability Centres (GCCs) facile for investors, the state government today brought out Keralam GCC Boilerplate that offers a single coordinated system for global firms to set up GCCs.

Seeram Sambasiva Rao, Special Secretary, Department of Electronics & IT, Government of Keralam, launched the Keralam GCC Boilerplate at the second edition of Economic Times GCC World SURGE, India’s largest residential GCC summit, here at Kovalam, in the presence of P K Kunhalikutty, Minister for Industries, IT & AI, Government of Keralam, who attended the event online.

Sandip Kumar, CEO, Technopark, and Susanth Kurunthil, CEO, Infoparks Kerala, were also present.

Keralam GCC Boilerplate is a government-enabled Soft Landing Framework that supports multinational corporations from the moment they decide to invest until their GCC becomes operational. Three integrated components—physical infrastructure, Keralam GCC Partner Network and GCC Facilitation team—will act as a single coordinated mechanism to help launch the GCC.

Kunhalikutty said Keralam GCC Boilerplate will ensure a hassle-free experience for investors as they can start their operations on the first day itself with the help of a single coordinated mechanism set up in government IT Parks.

He said the state is home to 50-plus GCCs, two lakh technology professionals, and it exports software worth over Rs 30,000 crore a year.

“The government has set a target of setting up 150 GCCs in Kerala by 2031. In this direction, the government has unveiled a dedicated GCC Policy and set up a GCC Consortium that brings existing GCCs into the policymaking conversation, GCC consultants and enablers, sustained outreach to GCC leadership both globally and within India,” Kunhalikutty noted.

Keralam GCC Boilerplate outlines that firms will get ready-to-move-in office space, dedicated handholding from day one and six months of rent-free operation in government IT Parks.

As part of providing facilities, a 20,000 sq.ft of dedicated world-class plug and play infrastructure will be created in every Keralam IT Park. A curated bench of empanelled service providers will support investors throughout the establishment and growth of GCCs.

Every Keralam IT Park will set up a dedicated GCC Facilitation team to assist GCC investors throughout the initial phase of setting up their GCCs.
