Steel Bomb explodes at Kollam Collectorate


Kollam: A bomb exploded inside a jeep that was parked on the premises of Kollam district collectorate onWednesday. One person was hurt. Police suspect it to be   a steel bomb.

The blast took place inside an abandoned jeep that had been parked close to the Munsiff court. The belonged to the labour department.

Police suspect that it was a planned act by someone to create scare. They have recovered 7 batteries and 14 fuses from the site of the blast.

A pipe bomb had exploded at the Ernakulam collectorate in 2009. Even though the authorities ascertained it to be a planned explosion, the investigation is still on.
