THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
Tata Power and Vivanta Aluva, Kochi, have strengthened Kerala’s EV charging infrastructure with the launch of a 120-kW DC Fast Charger at the hotel. This marks Tata Power’s first high-capacity 120 kW public EV charger deployed in Kerala, representing a significant step in strengthening the state’s fast-charging infrastructure and supporting its rapidly growing electric mobility ecosystem.
The new charging facility is designed to support the growing number of EV users travelling across Kerala, offering a convenient and efficient charging solution for intercity travellers. The dual-gun, dual-parking charger enables two vehicles to charge simultaneously, helping make EV travel more seamless along one of Kerala’s key road corridors. Kerala has consistently demonstrated strong EV adoption and increasing EV penetration, making the expansion of high-capacity charging infrastructure particularly important. The deployment of Tata Power EZ Charge’s first 120 kW public charger in the state reflects the company’s commitment to providing EV users with access to faster, reliable and conveniently located charging infrastructure.
The Tata Power EZ Charge App further enhances the customer experience through features such as Auto Charge, which enables users to start a charging session in a single step, and Trip Planner, which allows customers to plan their journeys in advance and conveniently locate charging stations along their route. As Kerala continues to witness growing adoption of electric mobility, the collaboration between Tata Power and Vivanta, Kochi reflects a shared commitment to building an accessible and connected clean mobility ecosystem. By integrating high-speed EV charging infrastructure at a hospitality destination, the initiative brings together sustainable travel, convenient mobility and responsible tourism, while supporting EV users travelling across Kochi, Thrissur and other destinations in the state.
With 6,700+ public and captive EV charging points, more than 2 lakh+ home chargers and 1,200+ bus charging points across 700+ cities and towns, Tata Power has built one of India’s largest integrated EV charging networks. Its charging infrastructure spans highways, airports, tourist destinations, malls, residential societies and commercial locations, catering to diverse EV users. The company aims to further scale its network to 7.5 lakh home chargers and 10,000 public charging points by 2030, supporting the development of a robust and connected green mobility ecosystem across India.
The fast charger at Vivanta Aluva, Kochi adds to Tata Power’s growing charging network in Kerala, helping bridge charging gaps along important travel corridors and enabling more EV users to undertake longer, more confident journeys across the state.
