THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
Tech A Break, Technopark’s flagship cultural initiative, was officially relaunched on Thursday with a spectacular motor rally at the Technopark Phase I Campus, marking its return after a five-year hiatus.
More than a hundred vehicles including bikes, cars, and jeeps revved through the campus, setting the tone for Tech A Break 2025, themed “Error 404 → Creativity Found.” The event aims to provide IT professionals with a vibrant platform to showcase their creative talents through a wide range of programmes and competitions.
Col Sanjeev Nair (Retd), CEO of Technopark, formally inaugurated the event following the rally. The launch ceremony was attended by Sreekumar V, Secretary, GTech and Centre head Tata ELxsi; Maneesh VS, Managing Director, ARS Traffic & Technologies; Binu Jacob, CEO, Experion; P. Balagopal KS, Vice President, Way.com; Vasanth Varada, Deputy Vice President (Marketing & Customer Relationship); Abhilash D. S., Assistant Vice President (Administration & Industrial Relations); representatives from Technopark, Natana & GTech along with volunteers and hundreds of IT professionals.
Tech A Break 2025 is jointly organised by Natana—the arts, cultural, sports, and IT club of IT companies in Kerala—in association with GTech and Technopark.
“The revival of Tech A Break is extremely important for the Technopark ecosystem. It provides a unique platform for professionals to showcase their diverse talents beyond work,” said Col Sanjeev Nair (Retd). “The event also offers a much-needed creative break from their demanding schedules.”
Highlighting the spirit of the festival, Sreekumar V said, “Tech A Break is the fun festival of Technopark, often referred to as the Yuvajanolsavam of Technopark. Let us celebrate an entire month of creativity, camaraderie, and festivity.”
The bike and car rally, flagged off from the Club House area of the Phase I Campus, featured expert riders performing stunts and showcasing modified vehicles. Participating teams included The Royals, 4 by 4 Days, Gear Machine, Cartronics, and the Travancore Royal Enfield Club (TREC). The rally concluded in front of the Thejaswini Building after a circuit around the campus.
Tech A Break 2025 will host a diverse line-up of programmes and competitions, including hackathons, quizzes, painting, music, Capture the Flag (a high-intensity cybersecurity challenge), treasure hunts, short films, comedy skits, band performances, fashion shows, and dance events. The festival is designed to offer multiple platforms for employees across Technopark to participate, compete, and celebrate creativity together.
