‘The Promise’ is a medical thriller which was wrought by the doctors of Government Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram. This exhilarating voyage has been undertaken by the young exemplary doctors who has given a deep insight into their social responsibility. The entire venture of direction, casting, music and other background works has been the tireless efforts of the budding doctors of 2010 MBBS Batch who tapped their potential and resources into a perennial fountain and created this invaluable jump.
It is a look into the dilemmas of the life of a doctor where the person and the physician are at a conflict of interest. The choice one has to make in serving the patient may hurt the ego of the man. But yet the promise of an ancient and regal oath may tilt the balance… Primum non nocere ‘The Promise’ reflects the realities in the life of any doctor wherein the society attributes absolute and superhuman responsibility on him while forgetting th
e man underneath. The choice he has to make may not always be digestible to the doctor's ego and beliefs . But when every doctor is being wrought by the furnace and anvil of one of the most challenging and intense training , what comes out from the other side is a professional who will sacrifice all that he holds dear and also his personal desires
to safeguard the life of the man who entrusts himself into the doctor’s hands.
