There Should Be Systems That Can Ensure The Quality Of Products From All Sectors: Minister P. Rajiv

There should be systems that can ensure the quality of products from all sectors, Industry Minister Shri. P. Rajiv stated while inaugurating a new state-of-the-art facility to test the quality of food and water at the Sophisticated Test and Instrumentation Center (STIC) at CUSAT on 20th May 2023 Saturday.

Prof. (Dr.) K.P Sudheer, Executive Vice President of Kerala State Council for Science Technology and Environment (KSCSTE) who is also the Governing Council Chairman of STIC presided over the function, while the Vice-Chancellor, CUSAT delivered the keynote address. Dr. S Pradeep Kumar, Member Secretary, KSCSTE delivered the welcome speech and Dr. M Gopalakrishna Pillai, Director STIC, delivered the vote of thanks.

“Although it is a coincidence that this lab is getting inaugurated on the day of the Second anniversary of the Kerala Government, it provides immense significance for the public – industry and academia together” – the Minister told during his inaugural speech. A proposal prepared by STIC envisaged to support industries, especially the MSME sector was handed over to the Minister by Prof. Sudheer. The Minister has assured to consider this proposal positively considering its importance in the industrial segment.

Apart from the beneficiaries of local community, the facility is a significant milestone in the promotion of scientific research and development for the student community as well. The lab will be open to industry, hotels and the public, providing them with access to advanced technologies and equipment to test the quality of their food and water.
