Tourism Minister Flags Off KTDC Luxury Bus Tour Project

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
The Kerala Government has been rolling out various measures aimed at development and growth of the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC), according to Kadakampally Surendran, Minister for Tourism, Cooperation and Devaswoms. Speaking at a function organized to flag off Kerala Tourism Development Corporation’s innovative Luxury Bus Tour Project in Thiruvananthapuram today, Kadakampally Surendran expressed hope that youngsters would be attracted by the Bus Tour Project to a great extent.
“The Luxury Bus Tour project which mainly focuses on youngsters comes with five attractive categories, including Glorious Thiruvananthapuram, Mesmerizing Kanyakumari, Refreshing Ponmudi, Splendid Kochi and Ultimate Kochi. The government will also take efforts to extend the Bus Tour Project to places including Kozhikode and Wayanad,” the Minister said.
The Luxury Bus Tour Project has been launched with the aim of offering travelers the facility of touring various tourist spots in comfortable coaches and accompanied by expert guides. KTDC Chairman M Vijayakumar said the buses, which are part of the project, have been with the most modern facilities which will attract travelers.
KTDC has introduced three luxury buses as part of the Bus Tour Project. Phase I of the project will be executed in Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi. The Thiruvananthapuram Tour, which will be on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, will cost Rs 899 per person. The Thiruvananthapuram- Kanyakumari trips on Mondays will cost Rs 1500. As part of the Refreshing Ponmudi package, which would cost Rs 2655, accommodation facility would also be provided at KTDC’s Ponmudi Golden Peak Hotel.
The Splendid Kochi package which starts from Bolgatty Palace will cover places including Mattancherry, Fort Kochi and Thrippunithura Palace, while the Ultimate Kochi package will include trips to Cherai Beach. Both the packages will cost Rs 1000. Trained guides will be assigned in the luxury buses that have been equipped with 24 seats. The buses will also boast a facility that would have announcements in Malayalam, Hindi and English.
