Tourism Minister P C Vishnunadh to Inaugurate World Environment Day at Kovalam on June 5

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
Minister for Culture, Cinema and Tourism P C Vishnunadh will inaugurate World Environment Day celebrations at international tourism destination Kovalam Beach on June 4 (Friday) at 10 am. Kovalam MLA M Vincent will preside over the function.

A mock drill involving tourism lifeguards, a flash mob by tourism volunteers and a walkathon involving students, environment enthusiasts and tourism stakeholders will be held as part of the celebrations.

“Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future” is the theme of this year’s World Environment Day.

State Tourism Department is organising its environmental conservation programmes based on the theme ‘Our Earth, Our Culture, Our Responsibility- Green Tourism for future generations’.

Sreedhanya Suresh IAS, Tourism Additional Director (General), Biju K, Secretary Tourism, and Anjana M, Director, Tourism Department, and ward counsellor Afsa Sageena will be present.
