Upgradation of Primary Health Centre at Shiroda, Goa, Inaugurated

The Upgradation of Primary Health Centre at Shiroda was inaugurated today at the hands of Manohar G. Parrikar, Defence Minister, Government of India, in the distinguished presence of Laxmikant Y. Parsekar, Chief Minister of Goa, Adv. Francis D’Souza, Dy. Chief Minister, Government of Goa and Minister for Health, ahadev N. Naik, Minister for Industries, Government of Goa, Adv. Narendra K. Sawaikar, Member of Parliament, South Goa, Dr. Pramod P. Sawant, Chairman of GSIDC & MLA of Sankhali constituency and Sidharth S. Kuncalienker, Vice Chairman of GSIDC & MLA of Panaji constituency.
Under the visionary leadership of Pramod P. Sawant, GSIDC is helping lead the way in building quality infrastructure for the state of Goa. Currently, the coporation is in the process of building roads, bridges, hospitals, colleges, schools, libraries, stadiums, jetties, bus stands, cultural centres and market complexes and is involved in the holistic development of rural and urban spaces.
Adding to this list of works, GSIDC has undertaken the Upgradation of Primary Health Centre at Shiroda. The health centre is a ground +1, R.C.C framed structure with a total bult up area of 2475 sq mts. It is a 24 bedded health centre. The ground floor comprises of a labour and general operation theatre, ICU, casualty/ day care, ultrasound department, X-ray room, laboratory, maternity ward, mortuary, male and female wards etc.
The first floor will house a medical store and attached dispensaries, seminar room, administrative block, health officer cabin, rest rooms etc. The health centre has
8 OPDs which consists of a treatment room, medical examination room and clinics for pediatrics, immunization, eye treatment, dental, orthopedic as well as an
ayush clinic.
The expansion foyer of the building opens into a corridor without disturbing the functioning of the hospital. Provisions are also made for a generator and UPS system to ensure 24 x 7 power supply.
The consultant of the project is Datta Kare Associates and the contractors are Indage Development Construction Pvt. Ltd, T.S.Mistry, Speedfrost Services Pvt. Ltd & Mediotiz Installations.
