THIRUVANANTHAPURAAM:
Continuing with its efforts in extending a helping hand to the needy, prominent AI and digital transformation solutions company UST has donated devices and other essential items to the Community Health Centre at Poonthura. The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) team at UST handed over an ICU bed, a multi para monitor, a digital BP apparatus, two cardiac tables, 100 colostomy bag with wafer, 30 dialyzers, 30 mattresses, 30 pillows, 100 cotton bedsheets, 60 pillow covers, two wheelchairs, five air beds, five waterbeds and 50 fibre chairs to support the patients at the Poonthura CHC.
The Community Health Centre at Poonthura provides round-the-clock medical services to people from the coastal areas. The CHC records around 700 to 800 patients visiting daily. With its primary source of income very limited, and government allowance insufficient to cover daily operational requirements, the CHC has been finding the going tough. Due to these financial constraints, the hospital authorities approached UST for assistance and support.
The CSR team at UST responded to the request and the devices and other essential materials were procured for handing over to the hospital. At a function organised at the CHC, the items procured by the CSR team at UST were handed over to the hospital authorities.
“As has been done earlier on many occasions, the corporate social responsibility team at UST was able to speedily respond to the request forwarded by the authorities at the Community Health Centre at Poonthura. I’m glad that UST has been able to support the patients at the CHC,” said Sunil Balakrishnan, Chief Values Officer and Global Head for Development Center Operations, UST.
Apart from Sunil Balakrishnan, a team from UST comprising Shilpa Menon, Vice President and Center Head – Trivandrum Campus; Vineeth Mohan, CSR Lead for India and the APAC Region; Nand Sundaram, CSR Ambassador; Najina Mohamed, Senior Delivery Manager; and Roshni Das K, Senior Lead – PR & Marketing, Kerala; were present at the handing over function.
