KOCHI:
The Kochi Infopark centre of UST Global, a leading digital technology services company that provides solutions for Global 1000 companies, will kick off its fifth edition of the annual inter-corporate football tournament, Goal, on Sunday, January 8.
The venue for the tournament will be Kakkanad Municipal Ground. Prelims will be held on January 7, while the inauguration of the tournament will be on January 8. Into its fifth year, the 2017 edition of UST Global Goal would be inaugurated by District Collector K. Mohammed Y. Safirulla. Neenu K K, Thrikakkara Municipal Chairperson, will inaugurate the Ladies shootouts as part of UST Global Goal.
Goal is an intercompany sevens football tournament hosted by UST Global for all Infopark-based companies. As many as 40 registrations have been received for the competition from various companies at Infopark.
Once the prelims are over a day ahead of the inauguration, the tournament will have a group stage with 8 groups of 4 teams each. Two teams from each group would move to t
he knockout stage to find the champion among the registered 40 teams. The final would be played on February 19.
