Varghese Moolans Foundation JoinsHands with Aster Hospitals

“Rocketry The Nambi Effect”, the multi-lingual Pan-Indian movie produced by Varghese Moolans Group, Angamaly which discusses the exposing of the fake spy case that brought great scientist Nambi Narayanan, ISRO and the Indian Space Science Agency into crisis is celebrating the worldwide success of the movie by conducting free heart treatments and surgeries for 60 children from underprivileged backgrounds.

Varghese Moolans Foundation, the charity arm of the Varghese Moolans Group, and Aster Hospitals, India’s leading hospital group, have joined hands to conduct free heart treatments and surgeries for under 18-year-old children.

Former ISRO Scientist Nambi Narayanan will inaugurate the medical camp on Sunday, October 30, at 9.30 am at CSA Auditorium, TB Junction, Angamaly. Actor Madhavan, who portrayed Nambi Narayanan in the movie Rocketry, Renu Raj IAS, Ernakulam, District Collector , and Roji John, MLA will attend the event.

The camp is supported by Aster Volunteers, The global CSR wing of Astter DM Healthare and Dr. Edwin Francis, Director , Pediatric Cardiology Department, Aster Hospitals will lead the camp which is going to be held across Kerala with the support of Aster Volunteers, CSR wing of Aster DM Healthcare.

The expert team of doctors includes Dr. Annu Jose, Dr. Bijesh V V, Dr. Renu Kurup, Dr. Remadevi A.S from the Department of Paediatric Cardiology and Dr. Sajan Koshy, Senior Consultant- Paediatric Cardiac Surgery, Aster Medcity Kochi, Dr. Girish Warrier, Senior Consultant & Head – Pediatric Cardiothoracic from Paediatric Cardiac Surgery, MIMS Calicut.

The Varghese Moolans Foundation has successfully performed cardiac procedures on 201 children in three phases of their Touch-to-Heart project in collaboration with various hospitals across the country. Among them were three African children who were brought to Kochi for surgery at the request of the Liberian President.

Also, more than half a dozen houses were built through the Home-Sweet-Home scheme and dozens of young women were given the gift of marriage by Kindle-A-Candle scheme and free kidney transplants. Through Fly-A-Firefly scheme educational scholarships are also provided.

After the medical camp, in the closing ceremony at 6 pm, the best 100 customers of the year at Moolan’s Hyper Mart located at Angamaly TB Junction will be gifted with Car, Bike, Electric Scooter Refrigerator, Gold Coins and Prize Coupons . It will be followed by a Kalasandhya organized by ‘Surya Angamali Chapter’, which will feature a contemporary art feast titled “Samudra” by Surya Krishnamurthy.

Dr. Varghese Moolan, Chairman, Varghese Moolan Foundation, Farhan Yasin, Regional Director of Aster Hospitals, Kerala & Oman Cluster, Dr. Edwin Francis, Director Paediatric Cardiologist, Dr. Sajan Koshy, Senior Consultant – Paediatric Cardiac Surgery and doctors from the Paediatric Cardiology Department attended the conference.
