Vigilance Awareness Week Held at Cochin Port Trust

As per the direction of Central Vigilance Commission, Vigilance Awareness Week was observed in Cochin Port Trust from 29.10.2018 to 03.11.2018.

Prior to the Week, a Walkathon was conducted by Vigilance Study Circle Kerala on 28.10.2018 at Ernakulam in which 30 Nos. Cochin Port Trust employees participated. Posters were displayed at various prominent locations of the Port and leaflet with information regarding activities for the Week were distributed among employees of the Port.

Observance of Vigilance Awareness Week was inaugurated on 29.10.2018 by A V Ramana, Dy. Chairman, Cochin Port Trust, followed by administering Integrity Pledge to the staff. Key note address on the occasion was also delivered by Dy. Chairman. Integrity Pledge was administered in various departments and divisions of the Port in which HoDs/Divisional Officers administered the Pledge to employees. Cochin Port Trust officers/staff took E- Integrity Pledge in various departments/ divisions.

On 30.10.2018, poster designing and essay competitions were conducted among students of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Port Trust, Govt. High School, W/Island and Cochin Port Trust Nursing School. About 300 students participated in poster designing and 200 students in essay writing.

Intra collegiate Essay Writing and Elocution competitions were held at Cochin College on 31.10.2018 and students of the college participated actively in these competitions. Essay Writing competition for Cochin Port Ttrust employees were held in the after noon session on the same day.

On 01.11.2018, inter collegiate essay writing competition for college students was conducted in the morning session and elocution competition for college students was conducted in the afternoon session. The students were given topics in connection with the theme subject.

On 02.11.2018, in the morning session, a talk on the theme subject of “Eradicate Corruption-Build a New India” was delivered by B. Kemal Pasha, Former Judge, High Court of Kerala in presence of Chairperson, HoDs and Senior officers and staff of Cochin Port Trust. Elocution competition for Cochin Port Trust employees were held in the afternoon session on the same day.

On 03.11.2018, the valedictory function was held in which Dr. M Beena, Chairperson, Cochin Port Trust distributed awards to price winners of various competitions for students of schools and colleges and staff members of Cochin Port Trust.
