VMSIIHE Organises Awareness Talk on Breast Cancer to Dispel Myths

PANAJI:
V. M. Salgaocar Institute of International Hospitality Education (VMSIIHE) recently organised an awareness talk on Breast Cancer.

The resource speaker for the same Dr. R. C. Suvarna Fonseca e Antão focused on creating awareness on breast cancer and reducing the stigma linked to the early symptoms and treatment involved in the ailment. The students, faculty and staff were enlightened with information on the different types of breast cancer, causes and risk factors involved, early symptoms and myths related to it. She also highlighted the importance of self-examination for women to identify the cancer at an early stage as a step towards prevention and early diagnosis.

Dr. R. C. Suvarna interacted with students and cleared doubts on the subject and offered clarity. With her years of experience and study on ailments, Dr. R. C. Suvarna provided the audience with precise knowledge and information that helped them to understand the importance of early detection of the disease and the line of treatment.

A consultant and practicing physician in Homoeopathy Dr. Suvarna is a trained first aid provider being associated with the Indian Red Cross, retired biology teacher of Carmel Higher Secondary School, Nuvem, and an awardee of the National Award to Teachers, 2019.
