Weathering Covid Scare, Cyberpark Kozhikode Charts a Bright 2021

KOZHIKODE:
Enthused by the induction of five companies since April amid pandemic-induced adversities, Cyberpark Kozhikode looks forward to a sturdy 2021 that is lined up with ambitious developmental plans.

The coming February will see a new IT built-up space of 42,000 square feet of smart business centres getting operational in the Cyberpark, where the Kerala government aims to promote IT/ITeS in the state’s northern belt. This Plug & Play area will facilitate the start of no less than 31 units with a space ranging between 500 sq ft and 2,700 sq ft (10 seaters to 40 seaters).

Cyberpark envisages more than 25 companies to open offices in its campus during the 2020-21 fiscal, with five of them already having set up units.

At present, Cyberpark has leased out 57 per cent of its leased-out area, housing 45 companies and providing employment to 750 people. Sahya Building is pivotal to the 42.5-acre campus, of which 30 acres are SEZ. Its first IT building area, with 3 lakh sq ft, commenced operations on 29 May 2017. As part of promoting Cyberpark as a centre of excellence in mobile applications, a 13,000-sq. ft App Incubation Hub by Mobile 10X has begun functioning since July 2018.

Currently, following the constraints owing to Covid-19, the Cyberpark is giving a special offer to companies that want to occupy the space, authorities said.

For instance, rent will be free for three months for companies that will commence operations before the end of the current fiscal (March 31, 2021). Further, product-based Kerala startups that avail space in Cyberpark will get a rental subsidy of up to Rs 20,000 per month for next three years through the Kerala Startup Mission.

“Rentals are very competitive. Compared to other IT parks, we offer very low rate for furnished and warm shell-space. Warm shell-space is provided between 1,000 sq.ft and 15,000 sq.ft,” says Nireesh C, General Manager of the 2009-founded Cyberpark. “There is a good ecosystem for startups that would like to start operations with us.”

In addition, lease option on land from 2 acres and above will be facilitated for a minimum period of 30 years renewable up to 90 years for IT oriented companies and co-developers.

Cyberpark has so far this year facilitated five companies to open offices. These are M2H Infotech LLP, Rydberg Engineering, RIMS Technology, D4 Integrated Securities Solutions LLP and Sapling Creations.

Further during the first quarter of this fiscal, Cyberpark will see the opening of offices of 12 firms: Illuzia Labs, Palmtrix Technologies, E Synergy, Iocod Infotech, Seclob Technologies, Arclif, Red Team Hacker Akademy, Hexwhale Interactive LLP, Client Cue, Bpract Software Solutions LLP, Welkinwits and Leeye T Techno Hub LLP.
