Women’s Day Celebrated at Government Cyberpark

Technology has a sound impact in minimising gender discrimination, according to Kozhikode Mayor Beena Philip. Of late, there have been distinctive changes in cultural psychological outlook and the welcome aspect has been the slow collapse of the wall of gender difference, she said as the chief guest of Women’s Day celebrations organized by Calicut Women’s Initiative of CAFIT, the body of IT entrepreneurs, and the Government Cyberpark here.

A change in perception of male-female distinction should be developed among children at a very early age so that they are moulded to be better as they grow. The concept of beauty too has undergone a change and individuality and education have got priority.

In the keynote address, Cyberpark Chief Executive Officer M.S. Madhavikutty said that timely changes had been made and over the years, gender equality had been implemented in various areas. This change was evident in homes as well, she added. The number of women working alongside men was now on the rise.

ACC ICF Certified Life and Executive Coach Sandhya Varma delivered a lecture on ‘Lead to Win’ and senior psychologist KK Usha spoke on mental health. CAFIT president Abdul Gafoor KV presided over the function where Kerala IT Parks Chief Marketing Officer Manjit Cherian and Government Cyberpark General Manager Vivek Nair were among others present. The Mayor felicitated the Cyberpark women’s team which won the Cafit Premier League Cricket championship.
