KOCHI:
National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS) conducted a Three Day Programme on ‘Gender Equality and Family Relationships- In the Age of Redefined Versions of Propriety and Liberty’ on the occasion of International Women’s Day Celebration. The Programme was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr) Rose Varghese, Vice Chancellor, NUALS.
The Three Day Event started with an Orientation Programme for the first Year LL.B students as envisaged under UGC SAKSHAM Report 2013. The academic sessions were enriched by Prof. Dr Neena Joseph and Parvati T, Psychologist. The Second day witnessed a Special Discourse, where panel discussions were headed by Prof. Dr Celine Scaria, Sociologist; Harikrishnan Dileep, Assistant Commissioner, Customs; Nina Nayar, Anthropologist and K.K. Shahina, Journalist.
On International Women’s Day, the Centre took the initiative of honouring two dignitaries, Lida Jacob and K. C. Rosakutty Teacher, Former Chairperson, Kerala Women’s Commission who throughout their life has contributed much towards the development of women and children. Dr M. C. Valson, Dr Mini S. Raveendrakumar D. and Rekha Venugopal spoke on the occasion. A Blood Donation Camp was also organised by the Centre in association with KEBS which witnessed active participation of girl students from NUALS.
