World No Tobacco Day Programme by Railways

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
In connection with World No Tobacco day observance on 31st May , Thiruvananthapuram Division in association with Indian Dental Association(IDA) and Regional Cancer Association has chalked out an awareness campaign and Free medical Checkup for detection of Oral cancer at Thiruvananthapuram Central station. The Function organized at Trivandrum Central station will be inaugurated by Prakash Butani, Divisional Railaway Manager. Dr Sabu Kurien, President, IDA, Kerala Chapter will preside over the function. Dr Ashok Dhoble , Secretary General, Indian dental Association will be the Chief Guest in the function.
To draw the attention of public and spread the message on evils of Tobacco, An exhibition train with no tobacco message will be run from Thiruvananthapuram to Kollam. The Exhibition train will start from Central station at 11-30 am and will halt at Varkala and Kollam Jn stations for public viewing. Train will also have exhibits by Railway Disaster management wing and Railway Protection force. RPF will also take up passenger awareness programmes on safe travel tips at Thiruvananthapuram, Varkala and Kollam Junction stations.
