It was a gripping day as the Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias Open 2017 tournament is growing more intense with the upcoming finals. The Men’s Doubles category witnessed the dynamic duo Pritish Kumar and Raju Kundaikar who were untroubled as they effortlessly defeated Benjamin Craven and Aman Bundela (4-0, 4-0) in their second battle. The unstoppable pair also won against Manu Chabra and Nagesh Naik in a nail-bitingly close Yash Chauhan marches into the U-16 Boys finals at the ongoing Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias Open 2017(4-1, 3-4, 4-1) fight at the presently on going Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias Open 2017 tournament. In the Veterans Double Suresh Kadam and Sandeep Verlekar pushed through to secure their spot in the tournament (4-1, 4-2) against Manoj Pandey and Pema Sherpa, bringing the morning session to an end.
The evening session saw the commencement of the semi-final U-16 Boys, Veterans Doubles, Ladies Singles and Mixed Doubles categories played out. In the U-16 Boys, budding players Yash Chauhan and Felix Craven took to the courts to play amidst cheers from their fellow players and family. Yash Chauhan overpowered Felix Craven with (4-2, 4-1) to march into the finals. In the Ladies Singles, Simran Khan battled it out against Nitsa Murthy for the ultimate spot and Simran Khan edged over Nitsa Murthy (4-1, 4-2) in the running for winning the title.

f 133 entries coming in across 10 categories. The tournament is being organized by Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias, Goa’s first tennis club in partnership with Goa State Tennis Association (GSTA) and Gadre Premium Seafood.Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias Open 2017 will be an annual fixture on the state’s tennis calendar. Spread over eight days, matches are scheduled between 7am and 10am in the morning and between 4pm and 10pm in the evening. The finals will be held on the 29th of January 2017.
