Ambuja Vidya Niketan Showcases Excellence at International Model United Nations Conference

Ambuja Cements, the cement and building material company of diversified Adani Group, is proud to announce the momentous achievement of Ambuja Vidya Niketan (AVN), Ambujanagar, Kodinar, on securing the first runner-up position at the International Model United Nations (IMUN), which was held in Kerala recently. The school emerged as a shining example of excellence by showcasing exceptional performances by seven out of its 12 students, who participated in the event.

The achievement is a testament of the School’s commitment to nurturing holistic development and was through remarkable feats of Laiba Kachhi who was awarded the Best Delegate in the UNGA category, followed by Kshiti Macwan in the second position and Dhruvisha in the third place. The successes in the UNGA category received an additional boost when Lency Bajaj won the Special Jury Prize. Furthermore, Angel Barad secured the third place and received a high commendation in the UNICEF committee. While Kathan Vyas achieved the second position in the UN Security Council and also earned a high commendation, Dhruv Parmar was acknowledged as a promising prospective delegate.

The school’s success was made possible due to due to the unwavering support of Adani Foundation and the dedication of its trustees. Principal Gopal Kaushik’s visionary leadership and guidance, coupled with the dedicated efforts of Pradip Patil, Tibin Thomas, and Ashu Kapil, significantly contributed to fostering excellence.

Model United Nations conferences serve as a crucible of learning, where students engage in the art of diplomacy, representing diverse countries, organisations, and individuals to collaborate and address pressing global challenges. Participants cultivate attributes of critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership skills through stimulating discussions, eloquent public speaking, analytical debates, and persuasive writing.

Hosted with grandeur at Peevees Public School, Nilambur, Kerala, IMUN witnessed participation from 10 schools this year, showcasing their diplomatic acumen across three distinct categories: UNICEF, UNGA, and UNSC. The event, a true celebration of intellect, welcomed delegates from eight Indian schools and two from Saudi Arabia, embodying the spirit of global collaboration.

The conference showcased a wide spectrum of global concerns, spanning from child trafficking to sustainable development and cyber warfare. It featured a distinguished panel of judges, including esteemed educators Shwetank Upadhyay, Swayam Ranjan, and Advit Upadhyay.
