NEW DELHI:
Ashok Leyland, flagship of the Hinduja Group and India’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturer, today, showcased its CNG vehicle, E-Comet STAR. The E-comet STAR will first be available in the 14T and 16T GVW segment. It comes fitted with H Series 4 cylinder BS VI engine with a maximum torque of 450 Nm @ 1250-2000 rpm. With a 14T / 16T GVW, the STAR has an ability to provide higher fluid efficiency, better tyre life, longer service intervals and overall lower maintenance cost with enhanced Turnaround Time (TAT) thereby, resulting in best-in-class Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for the fleet owners.
Speaking on the occasion, Sanjay Saraswat, Head – M&HCV, Ashok Leyland, said, “Today, we have introduced our first of many CNG trucks – the E-Comet STAR – which is based on the highly successful E-Comet platform. This will lead our product offensive in the fast-growing CNG segment. Staying true to our brand promise of ‘Aapki Jeet. Hamari Jeet.’ we wish to introduce new products that meets our customers’ requirements while at the same time are eco-friendly, helping us achieve our vision of being among the Top 10 CV manufacturers in the world.”
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. N Saravanan, Chief Technology Officer, Ashok Leyland, said, “Ashok Leyland has a track record of catering to customer’s needs with world class products which deliver better profitability. With the increasing need for better fuel efficiency and use of alternate fuels, we have a strong pipeline of such products, which will lead the industry. In this effort, we introduce our first CNG product, the E-Comet HE Star that comes from the successful E-Comet stable.”
