‘Chiraku’ -Free Pediatric Disability Screening and Parental Training

KOCHI:
The All-India Occupational Therapy Association (AIOTA) and Kerala Occupational Therapy Association (KOTA) jointly organize ‘Chiraku,’ a comprehensive program offering free assessments of physical and mental growth for children, along with educational sessions for parents and teachers. This event is scheduled to take place on January 19th, 20th, and 21st at Kaloor Gokulam Park, in partnership with the National Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (NIPMR), Irinjalakuda. Notably, the event coincides with the 61st Annual National Conference of All India Occupational Therapists Association- OTICON 2024.

Children participating in ‘Chiraku’ will undergo thorough evaluations by pediatricians, occupational therapists, speech therapists, psychologists, physiotherapists, and special educators. Expert-led classes will cover topics such as autism, hyperactivity, and learning disabilities. Experienced professionals will conduct training programs to empower caregivers and teachers including individualized counselling for parents. Additionally, children identified as requiring further intervention will receive complimentary services from an occupational therapist for one year.
