Contextual Cosmologies’ Nearing it’s Conclusion

The contemporary art exhibition ‘Contextual Cosmologies’ under the theme ‘How we become who we are’ held at Fine Arts College, Thiruvananthapuram as part of ‘Keraleeyam’ will conclude on 31st of this month. Seminar, debate and lecture presentation will be held in connection with it where many acclaimed personalities will participate. Director Adoor Gopalakrishnan, former culture minister M A Baby, G Vijayaraghavan will participate in the seminar on cultural policy and promoting cultural economy on tomorrow (December 29) at 6 PM.

Curator and art critic Girish Shahane will give a lecture presentation on the topic ‘From Irony to Identity: Modernism, Postmodernism and After’ at 3 PM tomorrow. Then at 4.30 PM, New Delhi-based curator and writer Anushka Rajendran and renowned Mumbai-based contemporary artist Sujith S N will participate in the discussion moderated by Kochi Biennale President Bose Krishnamachari.

On 30th evening at 4 PM, a discussion between renowned Malayalee artists NN Rimson and Anoop Panicker will be held. At 6 PM, another discussion will be held by prominent theater director and scenographer Deepan Shivaraman and leading theater activist and acting coach Jyothish MG. Bose Krishnamachari will moderate both the discussions.

The ‘Contextual Cosmologies’ contemporary art exhibition continued for 60 days with special permission from the government even though the Keraleeyam got concluded in seven days. Curated by Anushka Rajendran, Premjish Achari and SN Sujith under the leadership of Bose Krishnamachari, ‘Contextual Cosmologies’ showcases the works of 43 nationally and internationally renowned Malayalee artists. This contemporary art exhibition ‘Contextual Cosmologies’ got extended for two months for its awe-inspiring sight that amazes both the artwork and the venue.

Bose Krishnamachari informed that 20 debates and 4 lectures which were informative and thought provoking were conducted. 45 artists participated. He also added that it got a very positive public response. Admission is free for the exhibition which is open on everyday from 10 AM to 7 PM.
