KOCHI:
UDF candidate P T Thomas has started anti-corruption rally in Thrikkakara assembly constituency, when corruption to the tune of Rs 14.5 crore was detected in the constituency alone.
He pointed out that those who have looted the fund of the people would be brought before the law. He was speaking at the Gandhi Smrithi Anti-corruption rally organised as part of his campaign.
The rally which started from Kadavanthra Cheruparambathu Veetil, which has the memory of Mahatma Gandhi, was inaugurated by cine artist Ramesh Pisharadi. It is history that Mahatma Gandhi had resided at Cheruparambathu House when he arrived here to participate in Vaikom Sathyagraha in 1925. The bike rally passed through Vytilla, Thammanam, Palarivattom, Edappally, Alinchuvadu and concluded at Kakkanad IMG Junction.
Thrikkakara assembly constituency UDF chairman Joseph Alex, Congress block presidents Noushad Pallachi, Joshi Pallan, DCC secretaries P D Martin, P K Abdhul Rahuman, MP Muraleedharan, PI Muhammedali, Xavier Thayankari and Laly Josephine participated.
P T Thomas will submit this nomination to the returning officer at Erankulam collectorate on March 18, 11 am.
