CUSAT Research Paper chosen for 24/7 Free access on Springer Website

KOCHI:
This is time for a rare distinction for V Murugesan, Research Scholar working under the guidance of Dr. P S
Sreejith, Professor, Engineering dean and Syndicate member of CUSAT.

The research article, “Failure Analysis of a Launch Vehicle Umbilical Shutter Mechanism during Vibration
Qualification” has been selected as an Editor’s Choice article for 2018 from the Journal of Failure Analysis and Prevention. The selection facilitates free access 24/7 to the article for viewers of Springer’s website worldwide.

While such inclusion for ‘free access’ on the site costs US$3000 (around Rs.2 Lakh), this article has been included free of cost by virtue of its selection as an ‘Editor’s Choice Article’. “This selection is reflective of the comprehensive nature of your paper and its overall excellence. Only five papers are selected each calendar year as an Editor’s Choice article from among all the articles published in the Journal of Failure Analysis and Prevention for that year”, says Michael E Stevenson, Editor, in his communication to Dr. P S Sreejith in this regard. V Murugesan is Scientist ‘G’ working in Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, Thiruvananthapuram.
