Dr. Shanmuga Sundaram Assumes Charge as Secretary of Spices Board

KOCHI:
Dr. Shanmuga Sundaram, a 1997 batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre, today formally assumed charge as Secretary of the Spices Board, a statutory body under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.
Dr. Sundaram is posted as Development Commissioner of Madras Export Processing Zone (MEPZ) Special Economic Zone, Chennai since August 2016. A PhD in Agriculture, he had worked as District Collector in different districts in Uttar Pradesh and also served as Commissioner, Housing and Development besides Industries Secretary in the state.
Dr Sundaram also held additional charge of the Chairman of Rubber Board and Coffee Board, prior to this assignment.
