FACE International Charity Awards to Honor Distinguished Philanthropists

The much-anticipated FACE International Charity Awards ceremony is set to take place tomorrow, January 13th, where distinguished philanthropists and social advocates will be recognized for their exceptional contributions to humanitarian causes. The ceremony will be held at EMS Town hall, Ernakulam and commences at 3 pm.

This year’s prestigious award will be bestowed upon American social and philanthropist, Dr. Jacob Eapen, in commemoration of the 13th anniversary of the FACE Foundation. Established in 2011 with the noble vision of creating a Kochi without hunger, the FACE Foundation has since been dedicated to fostering positive social change. The award, which includes a monetary component of one lakh rupees, a plaque, and a citation, seeks to acknowledge Dr. Eapen’s outstanding commitment to philanthropy.

In addition to honoring Dr. Jacob Eapen, the ceremony will recognize the remarkable contributions of other deserving individuals. Abdul Hakeem, a street food vlogger known for his efforts in supporting street vendors and individuals earning a livelihood through home-based food sales, will be honored. Dr. Grace Thomas, a resident of Jawahar Nagar, who has provided free medical treatment to patients for 25 years, will also be acknowledged for her selfless service to the community.

The inauguration of the event will be conducted by Dr. Mahantesh Gattivalappa Kivadasannavar, Chairman of Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) and President of the Disability Cricket Council of India. Justice P.N Ravindran will felicitate the awardee, Dr. Jacob Eapen. Kochi Mayor M. Anil Kumar will grace the occasion as the chief guest, and special guests include Om Bachu, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Guild Systems, Vivek Vasudevan Nair, Air Customs Superintendent at Thiruvananthapuram Airport, and Sathyajit Nair, a US-based business entrepreneur.

Prominent figures from the FACE Foundation, including Chairman Prof. M.K Sanu, President T.R Devan, Vice Chairman Dr. T. Vinayakumar, Secretary C.B Hari, Joint Secretary Adv. K.M Sathyanath Menon, Treasurer R. Girish, and others, will also share their insights during the ceremony.
