THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
The 6th edition of ‘Raviz Prathidhwani 7s football tournament organized by Prathidhwani, an IT employees’ welfare organization, got off to a grand start at Technopark. Sports Council President and former Indian player U. Sharaf Ali, inaugurated the biggest football tournament of IT companies. Sharaf Ali received the tournament ever-rolling trophy from Thiruvananthapuram center head Shilpa Menon of defending champions UST. Sharaf Ali flagged off the bike rally of IT employees in the presence of UST Director Harikrishnan, Tournament Convener Saneesh KP and others. The trophy-carrying rally started from Technopark Phase 2 and went around the Phase 3 and Phase 1 campuses and ended near the Park Centre.
After the rally, Leela Ashtamudi manager Sam K. Philip, CEO of Yoode Promotions Nagarajan, Leela Kovalam Manager Rajesh Ghosh, Prathidhwani Sports Convener Rajith VP, Tournament Convener Saneesh KP, Joint Convenors Akhil KP, Rabeesh MP, Prathidhwani Executive Members Ajin Thomas, Visakh Hari also addressed the gathering. During the ceremony, the teams participating in the tournament were introduced and the captains displayed their team jerseys.
More than 2,000 IT employees from 93 IT companies are participating in the tournament organized in collaboration with Raviz Hotel Group and Yoode Promotions. The first round of the tournament, which will run for over two months until July 19, will begin on Saturday, May 6 at the Technopark ground. The winning team will get Rs 25,000, an ever-rolling trophy and a one-day stay at Raviz Ashtamudi. Along with this, the winners will also have many prizes provided by Raviz Hotels and Yoode. There will be separate awards for the best player of the tournament, top scorer, and best goalkeeper. After each match, the best player will have the player of the match trophy and special prizes given by Yoode. Prathidhwani, Raviz and Yoode have prepared many competitions and prizes for those who come to watch the matches.
