KOCHI:
20 students of Global Public School, Thiruvaniyoor are volunteering for the IBSA Blind Football Intercontinental Cup being held at Kochi till October 3. Teams from 10 countries are participating in the Cup which is being hosted at United Sports Centre, Kakkanad. Indian blind football team coach Sunil Mathew took the initiative for the students to become volunteers.
Their responsibilities encompass a wide range of tasks, from facilitating logistics to providing unwavering support and encouragement to the inspiring players on the field.. Also, the students got the chance to interact with the visually impaired players hailing from different countries.
Apart from India, teams from Costa Rica, Chile, Poland, Romania, Greece, Egypt, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and the Republic of Korea are competing in the Intercontinental Cup which started on September 2.
