KOCHI:
A delegation headed by S.R. Srinivas, Cabinet Minister for Small Scale Industries, Govt. of Karnataka along with MLAs K.M. Sivalinga Gowda and C. N. Balakrishnan, representatives of coir Co-operative Federation and Corporation and experts in coir sector visited Coir Board Offices in Kochi and Alleppey and also various Coir Units.
The delegation had discussions with the officials of the Board on the status of Coir industry in Kerala and the possibilities of strengthening the industry in Karnataka. Minister showed keen interest in the R & D activities undertaken by the Board and the Director CCRI explained the innovations in Coir industry. At HO the Jt. Director(Planning) presented various schemes and services being implemented by the Board. All senior Officers were present on the occasion.
