Kick Off: Football Trainers’ Camp Begins at LNCPE

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
An expert training camp for football coaches has got underway at the Lakshmibai National College of Physical Education (LNCPE) here, as part of the Kick Off project.

Kick Off, launched by the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, aims at spotting talents from the grassroots at a tender age and imparting them rigorous coaching in football, one of the most popular sports disciplines with high potential in the state. Organising camps for providing expert training for coaches is a key segment of the project.

As many as 24 coaches from across the state are participating in the ongoing camp at LNCPE, which will conclude on Saturday. Principal of LNCPE, Dr G Kishore, inaugurated the camp. Shri B Ajith Kumar, Additional Director, Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, presided over the function. Dr Pradeep Dutta, Pdadyum Reddy and  Prasanth attended the opening session.

The DSYA has collaborated with experienced organisations in the field in the conduct of coaching camps in different centres in the state under Kick Off.
