Muthoot Finance Launches Muthoot Snehasraya for Conducting Free COVID 19 Tests

The official inauguration of Muthoot Snehasraya COVID test van was conducted by Soumini Jain, Mayor of Cochin Corporation along with George Alexander Muthoot, Managing Director of Muthoot Finance Ltd.

The mobile van will be used for conducting antibody screening, the primary test for diagnosing COVID 19. The people screened positive under this screening and symptomatic people will be sent to ICMR and Government of Kerala approved labs for conducting antigen test, and all these facilities are offered free of cost by Muthoot Finance Ltd.

The technical support for this project will be provided by HLL Lifecare Ltd. which comes under Health and Family welfare Ministry of Central Government. HLL was earlier known as Hindustan Latex Ltd. HLL provides various health care facilities in different states, in coordination with National Health Mission and they provide Pharmacy, Laboratory and imaging services in Kerala. HLL has already conducted COVID rapid antibody tests for Kerala Police and Thrikkakkara Municipality staff. They have also experience in conducting tests to all international passengers in association with Government of Kerala.

Speaking on the occasion, George Alexander Muthoot, Managing director, Muthoot finance Ltd. said that, “Muthoot Snehasraya for COVID rapid antibody testing is a CSR initiative of Muthoot finance Ltd. Under this project, initially tests will be conducted for all the sanitary workers and other staff members of Ernakulam Corporation and the project will be extended to the length and breadth of Kerala, with the support of Government and other similar organizations.” “Muthoot Group was actively involved in the COVID relief activities, and this initiative is exemplary” said Soumini Jain, Mayor Ernakulam.

All the COVID protocol will be followed while conducting the blood tests. There are 3 qualified lab technicians and 1 male nurse to take care of the tests. The company is planning to conduct 40,000 tests across Kerala and these tests will be conducted absolutely free of cost. Tony Chammani Ex-Mayor, George M George, Managing Director, Leisure and hospitality division, The Muthoot Group, Dr. Reji Krishna, Nodal Officer, HLL life care Ltd., and Krishna Mohan, Manager HLL Life care Ltd. were present in the function.
