With a participation of 64 teams, the badminton league organized by Oberon mall begins on Friday.
The league is conducted prior to the Oberon gameathon which is conducted in April- May months every year. World body building championship bronze medal winner Peter Joseph will inaugurate the 3 day doubles tournament in Oberon mall at 10.30 am. The prize amount is 20000 rupees.
As part of Oberon gameathon, competitions like table tennis, chess and online games are being conducted over the years.”Oberon, this year, has decided to conduct a competition exclusively for badminton because we aim to find new talents in badminton and to encourage them.” said M.A. Muhammed, Oberon group chairman. Oberon is planning to conduct such tournaments in the coming years too. Centre manager Joji John and Marketing manager Rintu Antony attended the press meet.
