THRISSUR:
A one-day awareness workshop was held under the aegis of the State Responsible Tourism Mission in Thrissur today. The awareness workshop, organized at the Casino Hotel, T B Road, Thrissur, had the participation of representatives from local self-governing organizations,
Kudumbasree workers, farmers, handicraft manufacturers, traditional workers, artists, home stay entrepreneurs, hotels, resorts and houseboat entrepreneurs, tour guides and the like.
Classes on various topics related to Responsible Tourism Mission were part of the workshop. K Rupesh Kumar, Coordinator, State Responsible Tourism Mission, conducted a class on ‘Responsible Tourism Mission and Responsible Tourism’, while a session on ‘District Tourism Promotion Council and Responsible Tourism’ was handled by P Mahadevan, Secretary, DTPC.
Biji Xavier, Mission Coordinator, led a session on ‘Pepper Tourism Project’ while V S Kamalasan, Finance & Administrative Officer, Responsible Tourism Mission, elaborated on the ‘Responsible Tourism Mission Projects’. Thrissur District Coordinator, Abid Muhammed P P, took a session on ‘Activities in Thrissur District’. After the classes, the forum was open for suggestions. The workshop concluded with the presentation of a working model.
